Company search — T-number & license check

One search for everything: a company name (all 5.79M registered companies — kanji, kana or romaji), a T-number / corporate number (invoice status and licenses together), or browse by license type.

T-number, bare 13-digit corporate number (法人番号), the 12-digit registry number (会社法人等番号), or a company name. Try: トヨタT5030001144111DX-certified companieslicensed crypto exchanges
What license data is included?

License and certification data is combined from several official sources:

  • gBizINFO notifications & certifications (METI, ~132,000 records / 128 types, monthly): FSA financial licenses (securities, moneylenders, banking & insurance, funds transfer, crypto-asset exchanges…), METI / SME Agency certifications (DX, management-improvement and business-continuity plans…), MHLW certifications (Youth Yell, Monisu…).
  • Unified government bidding qualification (統一資格): when you look a company up by number, its qualification (grades per category) is checked against the official GEPS roster and cached — full coverage, not just the gBizINFO subset.
  • Construction business licenses (建設業許可): loaded prefecture by prefecture from the official prefectural rosters, matched to corporate numbers (currently 秋田県; more prefectures are added on the monthly refresh). A few records confirmed from official rosters are added manually and marked as such.
  • Representative names: from gBizINFO basic info (monthly; available for ~43,000 companies — mostly larger/active ones).

⚠️ Real-estate licenses, electrician registrations and construction licenses of prefectures not yet loaded are not searchable here — verify those in MLIT's official search system.

Invoice-registration status: NTA Qualified Invoice Issuer Publication Site, refreshed daily. Contains processed data from gBizINFO (METI) and the GEPS procurement system.

Everything here is also a free JSON API (attribution required).

Why these tools?

Generic currency APIs and foreign tariff sites don't match what Japan Customs actually applies. These tools republish the official Japanese sources — customs notices, METI/MIC registers, Japan Post data — in formats importers can actually use.
